Results from Judge #8 for Bracket 2: Amatsu Boss Steps: Light - 2/5 The steps were decent in a good bit of the song, but there is a couple of problems with the steps. The huge stream of 4th notes was kind of repetitive, you could have added some different patterns and perhaps a few jumps as well. The other problem was that the there was wayyyy to many freezes that are not needed, especially the freezes that the length of a 4th note. Standard - 2/7 The were once again, all right in certain parts. I did notice that the beginning freezes were exactly the same as the light version freezes in the beginning. You could have at least switched the freezes in the beginning a different way. The other problems are the same as the problems in light. There is also alot of double stepping that is not needed. Heavy - 4/10 Pretty much the same thing as standard and light. It might have been just me, but I'm pretty sure I some of the same patterns from standards were recycled for heavy mode. I did think the 16th note run during the piano solo was fun. Challenge - 4/8 The steps were a little better, but once again, it was pretty much the same problems as the other stepcharts. You might want to make each stepchart stand out adding slightly different patterns on each difficulty instead of recycling the same steps from the other difficulties. Steps Total: 12/30 Presentation: Banner 3/4 It wasn't too bad. It wasn't the nicest looking background, but it will do. Background 1/4 It seemed like you just got this from a wallpaper site or google image search. It feels like the text was just slapped on. Song Cut 0/2 The song was too long for DDR standards Extras 2/7 The only extras I could find were the beginner steps. Would I play it again 1/3 I would, actually, but I would play it for the song and not the steps. Presentation Total: 7/20 Overall: 19/50 Pros: I like the song. You had beginner steps. Cons: The steps were recycled in some parts Too many freezes The song was too long Caravan of Love Steps: Light 3/5 Well, there is nothing wrong I can see, but the steps were just boring . It was pretty good for what you had to work with. Standard 7/10 Once again, the steps fit and were good for what you had to work with, but it was still boring. Heavy 10/15 Same thing as the other stepcharts. The steps were pretty fun though, even though it still was a little boring. Steps Total: 20/30 Presentation: Banner 3/4 The banner was pretty good. Nothing spectacular though. Background 3/4 So was the background. It fit the song pretty well. Song Cut 1/3 For a song this slow and boring, 2 minutes and 12 seconds really drag on. Extras 5/7 I found double steps in here, which helps out. Beginner steps helped out with the score and I thought the read me was kind of interesting, so I gave a point for that as well. Would I Play This Again 0/2 Unfortunately, no. The steps and the song aren't interesting enough for me to play again. Presentation Total: 12/20 Overall 32/50 Pros: Steps were good for the song choice. A good bit of extras. Original song choice Cons: Unfortunately, the song was a boring song choice (I'm not taking off points for that though) Darling Steps: Light 4/5 The steps were pretty good here. It did feel like most of the time I was facing the right side. Standard 10/10 To be honest with you, I wouldn't change a thing on this stepchart. The steps were really fun for a standard chart. good job man :D Heavy 15/15 Wow! and I thought standard was good. This chart is really well made. I did like the fact that the part after the chorus where the synth sound starts to kick in, you mostly had 4th notes with the occasional triplet instead of a bunch of 8th note triplets, or a huge 8th note stream. Once again, good job man :D Steps Total: 29/30 Presentation: Banner 3/4 The banner is pretty nice. Background 3/4 At first, I thought the quality of the background was really bad, until I noticed that it was just a photoshop effect. Song Cut 2/3 The song is a bit on the long side unfortunately. Extras 6/7 There was bunch of extras to be found here. I almost didn't notice the lyrics, but luckily I did at the last minute. Would I Play It Again 2/2 Definitely, without a doubt. Presentation Total: 16/20 Overall 45/50 Pros: Standard and Heavy Charts were awesome. Loads of extras Cons: Song was perhaps too long Dashboard Steps: Light 3/5 The steps were allright for me. You could have done more patterns around the beginning instead of just repeating the pattern where you have 2 steps on the same arrow. The part with the arrows during the long freezes could have been put differently instead of on the same arrow as well. Standard 7/10 The steps were better on standard. The 8th note jackhammer steps in the middle fit in perfectly with the song. One problem was when the (violin?) starts in the middle of the song, the steps could have once again had a little more variety in of the same 2 steps on the same arrow problem on light. Heavy 8/15 I thought it was a little wierd how the beginning note was an 8th note. I think you should have started an 8th note earlier by using a 4th note for the first step. I also noticed that on almost all of the 1st half of the song, I was facing only the right side only, which kind of bothered me. Steps Total: 18/30 Presentation: Banner 4/4 Fits in perfectly Background 4/4 Also fits in as well Song Cut 3/3 The song was cut in a perfect length. Extras 4/7 I'm glad you added the video to the song. Only other extras I found were beginner steps. Would I Play It Again 1/2 Sure, I would play it occasionaly. Presentation 16/20 Overall 34/50 Pros: Great Presentation Perfect song length Cons: If it weren't for the steps, this song would have gotten a really high grade. Down 4 My N's Steps: Light 1/5 These steps were very repetitive. It was practically the same pattern over and over again in the beginning. The jumps during the gun shots could have been changed to a jump freeze since its hard to sync steps to a gun shot (I think). Standard 4/10 These steps were a little less repetitive. But still, the steps were really boring. All this chart needs is a bit more step variety. Heavy 6/15 This stepchart had the most variety out of the other stepcharts. That doesn't mean it didn't have repetitive steps. Steps Total: 11/30 Presentation: Banner 3/4 Not too bad. Background 1/4 The background was just a black screen with words slapped on. Song Cut 1/3 The song was a little too long for its own good. Extras 5/7 I kind of enjoyed reading the read me. The video was good, even if it was a little low quality. I did enjoy how you put little notes for certain difficulties like for Heavy you put in (For the hard niggaz) Would I Play It Again 1/2 Eh, probably just once to show my friends this song. Presentation Total: 11/20 Overall 22/50 Pros: Nice Extraz Cons: Da stepz Frontal Impact Steps: Light 5/5 Nothing wrong here that I can see. This is a fun light stepchart. Standard 9/10 There is nothing too bad with this stepchart either. It is not my favorite standard stepchart in this bracket, but it still is really good. Heavy 13/15 Another awesome stepchart. The whole thing seemed to flow nicely. The only problem here is that the you probably should have added an extra note at the end. It felt wierd having that freeze at the end when there was still a few more places for steps. Steps Total: 27/30 Presentation: Banner 4/4 Nicely Done. Background 4/4 Also really nicely done. Song Cut 3/3 Perfect song length for this song. Extras 3/7 All I found were beginner steps. I liked the readme as well. Would I Play It Again 2/2 Definitely Presentation Total: 16/20 Overall 43/50 Pros: Excellent Steps Excellent Presentation Cons: There could have been another step at the end of heavy Perhaps a few more extras Full-consciousness Green Steps: Light 3/5 Not bad at all. There is probably a bit too much double stepping a light stepchart and there is also a bit too many freezes. The freezes are fine in certain parts (the long freezes in the middle and the freezes near the end), but you could have gotten rid of a few freezes in certain parts (like the short freezes in the middle). Standard 7/10 The steps weren't too bad here either. There were fewer freezes in here (It seemed like it) which is a good thing. You could done a few different step patterns instead of just have 8th triplets in certain parts, but that problem isn't as bad as I'm making it out to be. Heavy 10/15 The steps kind of fun in certain parts. The crossover steps were nice and the 16th note quintuplets at the end fit in perfectly. One problem I found was that you used the type of step pattern where you stand in one place (in example: LULULULU) alot in the beginning. Steps Total: 20/30 Presentation: Banner 2/4 The colors and the background of the banner fit nicely, but the font looks a bit ugly. Background 2/4 Same thing as the banner. Song Cut 3/3 Song didn't drag by at all. Extras 3/7 I found beginner steps. I also thought it was nice that you dedicated this song to a special friend in the readme. Would I Play It Again 1/2 Occasionally Presentation Total: 11/20 Overall 31/50 Pros: steps were good Cons: a few problems with the steps though banner and background could have been better Hold The Line Steps: Light 5/5 These steps were really fun for light steps. I especially like the crossovers and the 8th note jackhammer triplets in certain parts of the song Standard 8/10 These steps were also really fun. There was faulty part I noticed. Somewhere around the middle the jumps were not placed on the beat of the claps. I'm not sure if you meant to do that, but it seems like you didn't mean to since the other jumps were placed on the beat of the claps. Heavy 13/15 The steps were also really fun here. The 16th note turns around the end are a little too harsh for an 8 footer. Steps Total: 26/30 Presentation: Banner 4/4 Nicely Done Background 4/4 Nicely Done as well Song Cut 3/3 Perfect Length for this simfile Extras 0/7 Unfortunately, I couldn't find any extras at all. Would I Play It Again 2/2 Of Course Presentation Total: 13/20 Overall 39/50 Pros: Great steps Nice Presentation Cons: Some minor problems with standard and heavy steps No extras I've Got A Jar Of Dirt Steps: Light 1/5 These steps were very repetitive. Even though the song limits you with the number of step patterns you can use, there is still a little more variety you could have added. Standard 2/10 There is still very little in variety. Same problems basically as light. Heavy 3/15 These steps still have the same problems as the other stepcharts. Steps Total: 6/30 Presentation: Banner 1/4 Just words slapped onto a picture of Jack Sparrow Background 1/4 Same thing as the banner Song Cut 2/3 Song cut is allright, but with a song this annoying, it feels like it could be shorter Extras 2/7 Found some beginner steps. Would I Play It Again 0/2 Unfortunately, No Presentation Total: 6/20 Overall: 12/50 Pros: I'm just glad this song wasn't a long version song Cons: Steps and Presentation Kimi no Machi Made Steps: Light 5/5 Not bad at all. The steps seem like they are well made. Standard 6/7 These steps were also fun for the most part. One thing I noticed is that it seems like the patterns repeated a noticeable bit during the beginning. Heavy 5/10 The steps felt a little repetitive in small spots, but the one problem here is that you accidentally put a hand step. Challenge 6/8 The steps were more fun on challenge than they were on heavy. The 8th note jump around the beginning was not needed though. Steps Total: 22/30 Presentation: Banner 3/4 Letters felt slapped on, but it still fit Background 3/4 Same thing as the banner Song Cut 3/3 The song cut in a perfect length for me Extras 5/7 Just beginner steps. Readme was nicely done though. There are also lyrics as well. Would I Play It Again 2/2 Sure, I would play it again Presentation Total: 16/20 Overall: 38/50 Pros: Most of the stepcharts were well made Cons: Hand step in heavy mode Other minor flaws Kokoro Oduro Steps: Light 5/5 The steps were pretty fun to play. The BPM change also kept things interesting. Standard 7/7 These steps are pretty challenging for a standard song. The steps are really fun to play though. I liked how the steps had alot of variety. Heavy 10/10 Once again, the steps were perfect and flowing with variety. I hope Challenge is as good as the other step charts. Challenge 8/8 Maybe I'm just too kind when I'm judging, but I know perfection when I see it and You did a perfect job with the steps. I will definitely check out your simfiles when Best Mix reveals the authors. Steps Total !!!!!!30/30!!!!!! Presentation: Banner 4/4 Nothing wrong here Background 4/4 Neither in here Song Cut 2/3 Almost seemed a little bit too long Extras 2/7 Only extras I found were beginner steps Would I Play It Again 2/2 Well, Of course. How could I say no after saying how good the steps are. Presentation Total: 14/20 Overall 44/50 Pros: Everything about the steps Cons: Could have used a few more extras Lady Chopper Steps: Light 5/5 Nice steps. Nothing wrong that I can see. Standard 10/10 Once again nice steps. Seems a little hard for a standard chart, but its not that big of a deal. Heavy 15/15 Awesome steps, again. You know, It might just be me, but I had an incredibly fun time playing these steps (It could also be that I was into the song as well). Steps Total !!!!!!30/30!!!!!! Presentation: Banner 4/4 Nice video banner Background 4/4 Background was also pretty good. Song Cut 3/3 Perfect Song length Extras 1/7 Only extra feature is the video banner Would I Play It Again 2/2 Definitely Presentation 14/20 Overall 44/50 Pros: steps Cons: Little to no extras Lets Get Rockin' Steps: Light 3/5 The steps were pretty good. It seems like this should be a 5 footer though. One thing that you should have done differently was to change the 16th note freezes (which seemed wierd since it was trying to match the vocals) and change them into just 4th note freezes. Standard 5/7 Good steps, but some of the freeze problem is still the same here. The steps also felt a little more repetitive this time around. Heavy 5/10 The same freeze problem is still here. And the really short jump freeze in the middle was unnecessary. The steps were also still a bit repetitive this time around. Challenge 6/8 The steps were better in this stepchart. The 16th notes were well placed here (minus the 16th note freeze problem like the other difficulties). Steps Total: 19/30 Presentation: Banner 4/4 Banner fits well here Background 3/4 The background kind of looks a bit on the ugly side, but the font looks nice. Song Cut 3/3 Perfect Length Extras 0/7 Unfortunately, none that I can find. Would I Play It Again 1/2 Every once in a while I'll play it again. Presentation Total: 11/20 Overall 30/50 Pros: Challenge mode in my opinion had the best 10 footer steps out of both brackets Cons: No extras Steps could still be a bit better. Love In Your Arms Steps: Light 3/5 The steps were good here. One problem here was that those 4th note parts to the beat of the guitar when the 1st and 2nd verse of the song start should have had a different pattern (like just one 4th note instead of two or two 8th notes instead). Standard 8/10 Not bad here. You managed to get rid of the problem in light mode here. The steps did feel a little bit repetitive though. Heavy 12/15 The steps were a bit more fun in this mode. I especially like the steps around the end. One thing I noticed was that your steps followed the vocals perhaps a bit too much. Steps Total: 23/30 Presentation: Banner 4/4 Nicely Made Background 4/4 Also nicely made Song Cut 3/3 Good length Extras 0/7 Unfortunately, None that I can find Would I Play Again 2/2 Yeah, I would definitely play again Presentation Total: 13/20 Overall: 36/50 Pros: Nice Presentation Pretty Good Steps Cons: No extras My Selene Steps: Light 3/5 There were good, but they were a little repetitive. A few more different patterns could have helped this. Standard 7/10 I enjoyed these steps a bit more than light. But there still could have been a bit more in the steps, like slightly new patterns during every chorus. Heavy 13/15 The repetition here didn't seem as bad as the other difficulties, but it still felt a little boring. The 16th notes were well placed, especially in the end. Steps Total: 23/30 Presentation: Banner 4/4 Beautiful Background 4/4 Also beautiful Song Cut 3/3 Good song length Extras 6/7 I found beginner steps, double steps and lyrics in this simfile. Would I Play It Again 2/2 I would love to play it again Presentation Total: 19/20 Overall 42/50 Pros: Almost perfect presentation Man, that banner and background look awesome Cons: The steps were a tad on the repetitive side NB Rangers Returns Steps: Light 2/5 The patterns seemed a little boring during a good portion of the song. The bpm change kept things interesting, even though it caught me off guard. I didn't like the BPM stops at all though. The jumps during the 4th note streams don't really fit in my opinion, it felt wierd since the jump wasn't really during a snare or bass part. Standard 3/7 The steps were a tad better here. Those jumps during the 4th note streams weren't there. The steps, unfortunately, still felt rather boring and those BPM stops still gets on my nerves. Heavy 5/10 The steps a bit better on heavy. There did seem to a double stepping 16th note part in the beginning. Challenge 2/8 I don't care if people disagree with me on this or not, but double stepping is not fun during 16th note triplets or streams. There seemed to be alot double stepping. This had potential to be fun if you fixed the double stepping issue. Steps Total: 12/30 Presentation: Banner 1/4 Just some text slapped onto the logo Background 1/4 Seems like the logo placed on top of another picture. Song Cut 3/3 Song cut was good though Extras 2/7 Only extras I found were edit mode steps Would I Play This Again 0/2 Sorry, I just didn't like it enough to play again. Presentation Total: 7/20 Overall 19/50 Pros: Heavy steps were allright Song cut was a good length Cons: BPM stops were just annoying Tons of double stepping on challenge mode Ne~e Steps: Light 4/5 The steps were pretty fun here, but they did feel a bit repetitive in very small parts. Standard 9/10 Nice steps here as well. Just a little bit repetitive as well. Heavy 13/15 The steps are really good in all the stepcharts here. It just there could be a few more different patterns throughout the song, but it's not as big of a deal as It seems that I'm making. Steps Total: 26/30 Presentation: Banner 2/4 It seems allright but the banner and the background picture look exactly the same Background 2/4 Same as above Song Cut 3/3 Perfect length Extras 4/7 I found beginner steps. I liked the video, even though it just looks plain wierd. Would I Play It Again 2/2 Yes, not just for the steps, but also for that wierd video. Presentation Total: 13/20 Overall 39/50 Pros: Pretty Good Steps Wierd video Cons: Background and Banner look too much alike Steps could have a little bit more variety to them Onna Ni Sachi Are Steps: Light 4/5 Not bad. The steps in during the chorus seemed to repeat itself a little bit though. Standard 9/10 Not bad here either. The steps were really fun here as well. The chorus steps still seemed to have the same problem though. Heavy 15/15 These steps were really fun though. There wasn't anything wrong that I see here. Steps Total: 28/30 Presentation: Banner 4/4 Nice banner Background 4/4 The background is a little wierd looking, but it still fits nonetheless Song Cut 3/3 Good length Extras 6/7 There was a good bit of extras here. There was a video, a banner video, lyrics, and the readme was nice also. Would I Play Again 3/3 Definitely Presentation Total: 19/20 Overall 47/50 Pros: Mostly everything Cons: Just some minor issues in light and standard mode Poodle Steps: Light 5/5 The steps were perfect for light mode. I think this could have been a 4 footer instead, but I won't count off points for that. Standard 10/10 Steps were also perfect for standard mode. The foot rating seems appropriate as well. Heavy 15/15 Man, these steps are also perfect. They were varied and there was no double stepping that I could find (just the way I like it). Steps Total: !!!!!!30/30!!!!!! Presentation: Banner 4/4 Nicely Done Background 4/4 Also very nice Song Cut 3/3 Perfect length Extras 1/7 Unfortunately, none, except the readme Would I Play This Again 2/2 Of course Presentation Total 14/20 Overall 44/50 Pros: Perfect steps Nice presentation Cons: No extras except a readme Rocket (Dancing In The Moonlight) Steps: Light 5/5 The steps here fit nicely. Standard 10/10 The steps here were nice as well. Seems more like a heavy stepchart in some cases. Heavy 12/15 Steps were still great in most parts, but a small problem is that a 16th note triplet that ends in a run is rather harsh for a 9 footer. Steps Total: 27/30 Presentation: Banner 3/4 Banner doesn't look bad Background 3/4 Doesn't look bad either Song Cut 3/3 Good song length Extras 1/7 Unfortunately, none except readme Would I Play This Again 2/2 Yes Presentation Total: 12/20 Overall 39/50 Pros: Steps Cons: No Extras Satellite020712 Steps: Light 4/5 The steps were pretty good here. The steps in the beginning and near the end were a bit repetitive since they were both had the same step pattern. Standard 4/7 The steps were also good here. The steps in the beginning and end still felt a bit repetitive. What surprises me is during the slow part of the song where I would think you would normally have reptitive steps actually turn out fun and varied. Heavy 5/10 The steps were still good in some parts, but in the beginning and the end some of the triplets don't feel like they match the beat very well. There still is a bit of repetitiveness on this stepchart, but not as much as standard or light. Challenge 7/8 The steps were alot more better here for the most part. There was still the same problem as on light and standard though. Steps Total: 20/30 Presentation: Banner 4/4 Banner looks really nice Background 4/4 Background is also really nice Song Cut 3/3 Good song length here. Extras 7/7 It just about has every extra here, except lyrics. But I won't count off for not having lyrics since the song has no lyrics at all. Would I Play This Again 2/2 Yeah, I would play it again Presentation Total: !!!!!!20/20!!!!!! Overall: 40/50 Pros: Perfect Presentation Cons: Steps could have been a bit better Spring Steps: Light 2/5 The steps felt very boring to me. Most of the time, it was just a Half note stream. You could have tried adding a few different patters throughout the song instead. Standard 8/10 Although these steps were a tad repetitive, they weren't as bad as the light steps. The steps felt like it for the most part though. Heavy 13/15 These steps were pretty fun though. They reminded me of a stepchart kind of like Can't Stop Falling In Love Speed Mix, but just like CSFILSM, it felt a little repetitive unfortunately. Steps Total: 23/30 Presentation: Banner 3/4 Fits the song nicely. Background 3/4 Same here Song Cut 2/3 It felt a little too long, even at one minute and fourty-one seconds Extras 2/7 Only extras I found were beginner steps Would I Play This Again 1/2 Yeah, but just once in a while Presentation Total: 11/20 Overall: 34/40 Pros: Heavy steps Cons: Lack of extras Light steps felt boring Symbolic (Cryptex Mix) Steps: Light 4/5 Pretty good, but the step patterns are a bit on the repetitive side Standard 5/7 Steps are good here. The steps still are a tad on the boring side. Heavy 8/10 The steps in the first part of the built up nicely. They progressively changed a bit and were very. The second half (after that long freeze where the music cuts out) had some boring steps unfortunately. Challenge 7/8 The steps were fun here, especially in the middle of the song with varied step patterns. The gallops after the long freeze felt a little wierd for me Steps Total: 24/30 Presentation: Banner 4/4 Banner looked like it would be a banner off of DDR Background 2/4 Background look a little dull for me. Song Cut 2/3 A tad too long, but not incredibaly long Extras 5/7 There were beginner steps and doubles steps as well. I also enjoyed the readme. Would I Play This Again 2/2 Yeah, I will Presentation Total: 15/20 Overall 39/50 Pros: Well balanced simfile Cons: Background was a little dull The Game of Love Steps: Light 5/5 These light steps were fun. Nothing wrong here. Standard 9/10 The steps were good here also. I kind of wish you would have done different 8th note pattern instead of patterns like this: LUL or RDR Heavy 15/15 Fun steps here. Nothing wrong that I can see. Steps Total: 29/30 Presentation: Banner 4/4 Nice Background 4/4 Very nice as well Song Cut 3/3 Good length Extras 4/7 Only found beginner steps and a video Would I Play This Again 2/2 Yeah Presentation Total: 17/20 Overall 46/50 Pros: The steps were really good Great Presentation Cons: Needs a few more extras TKO Steps: Light 4/5 The steps had a good variety of patterns here. You probably might have wanted some 4th note streams not seem like your stepping in the same place over again (example DRDRDRDR) Standard 7/10 The steps were good, but the steps felt like they were copied and pasted Heavy 11/15 The steps were good here as well. I don't think the gallops fit though. Steps Total: 22/30 Presentation: Banner 4/4 Very nicely made Background 4/4 Nicely made as well Song Cut 3/3 The song cut was perfect for the song Extras 2/7 Only Extras I found were doubles steps Would I Play This Again 1/2 Occasionally Presentation Total: 14/20 Overall 36/50 Pros: Banner and Background were very nice Cons: Lack of extras Why Did You Go Away Steps: Light 3/5 Steps were a little too early unfortunately. The steps were also a tad repetitive. Standard 6/10 The steps still were place too early. Heavy 12/15 The steps are actually placed just right on heavy, but the steps still feel a tad repetive in some parts. Steps Total: 21/30 Presentation: Banner 4/4 Fitting for DDR Background 4/4 Also fitting Song Cut 3/3 Good length Extras 2/7 All I found were double steps Would I Play This Again 1/2 Occasionaly Presentation Total: 14/20 Overall 35/50 Pros: Heavy Steps were good Cons: Lack of extras Light and Standard steps were placed too early
